Avengers: Infinity War – the Triumph of the MCU

Marvel Cinematic Universe or MCU is the fictional movie universe created in 2008 by Marvel Studios and Marvel Entertainment with the release of their first movie, Iron Man. Being one of the most popular franchises in modern history, the universe revolves around a series of superhero movies, whose leading characters are based on the Marvel Comics comic book characters, such as Iron Man, Captain America, Thor, Hulk, Spider-Man, Vision, and many others. The universe was established by releasing individual movies,  that were later merged together in a crossover movie, Marvel’s The Avengers. The franchise also includes popular TV series, such as Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D, Daredevil, Jessica Jones and Iron Fist, comic books, and short tie-in films. One of the interesting things about this franchise is how many betting lovers it has attracted – people were bored of using the usual Virgin Games promo code for 2020 for casinos or codes for football betting and settled on betting about the main question in the movie – who will die in the end?

The latest Marvel masterpiece, Avengers: Infinity War, produced by Marvel Studios and distributed by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures, became the 4th top grossing movie of all time. It has earned  $258 million domestically, therefore surpassing the success of Universal’s Jurassic World. Avengers 3 was released in theaters on Thursday, April 26, earning $39 million in tickets sales on that night alone. The previous Avengers movie, Age of Ultron, took $27.6 million on its opening night, whereas the recent Marvel’s Black Panther earned $25.2 million on the night it was released in theaters. The Infinity War has been dominating the box office ever since, becoming Marvel’s most lucrative project.

The plot of the Infinity War united almost all characters from the Marvel Cinematic Universe, with the common goal, to save the world from the mad Titan, Thanos. While the Avengers and their allies continue to protect the Earth from outside dangers from the other galaxies, a so far unimaginable threat arises from the cosmos: Thanos. The villain is determined to collect all six Infinity Stones, all-powerful gems, and use them to change the reality as we now know it. His goal is to establish harmony in the universe, where all planets and worlds will have enough natural resources to feed their inhabitants. Thanos plans to accomplish his goal by using the six Infinity Gems to wipe out half of the universe. Now, the united superheroes have to gather all their strength and use all their resources to fight the most powerful villain in the MCU.

Avengers 3 mainly focuses on the protagonists from the previous Avengers movies, the Guardians of the Galaxy, and the heroes from other 18 movies by Marvel. The movie was directed by Joe and Anthony Russo. The leading characters are portrayed by Chris Evans, Robert Downey Jr., Chris Hemsworth, Scarlet Johansonn, Mark Ruffalo, Elizabeth Olsen,  Anthony Mackie, Tom Holland, Chadwick Boseman, Benedict Cumberbatch, Chris Pratt, Dave Bautista, Zoe Saldana, Bradley Cooper, Tom Hiddleston, Vin Diesel and Josh Brolin.
