That's not all, Tom Hanks will also guest on a couple of talk shows… let's get ready to have some fun !

Tom Hanks & Julia Roberts on Oprah

Tom Hanks and Julia Roberts will be on The Oprah Winfrey Show on May 6, 2011 to promote their new movie, Larry Crowne, and for their farewell to Oprah Winfrey whose final episode will air on May 25th.

The two of them previously appeared on the show in November 2007 for Charlie Wilson's War, and it was the first time they were giving an interview together. You can watch it in our archives. No doubt this will be fun to watch !

Tom Hanks also appeared on the show in October 2004 for The Polar Express and director Robert Zemeckis even paid a visit that day towards the end of the show. This appearance is also available in our archives.

AFI 2011 : Morgan Freeman honored

The American Film Institute (AFI) will pay tribute to Oscar-winning actor Morgan Freeman with its prestigious 39th Lifetime Achievement Award, America's highest honor for a career in film, on June 9, 2011.
The gala celebration and the show will air on MTV Network's channel TV Land on June 26 at 8 PM ET.

Tom Hanks will attend the event and will be of the actors and directors who will honor actor Morgan Freeman. Other actors and directors to attend are Clint Eastwood, Helen Mirren, Mike Nichols, Jack Nicholson, Brad Pitt, Sidney Poitier, Robert Redford, Tim Robbins, Steven Spielberg, Hilary Swank, Ben Affleck, Jim Carrey, and Denzel Washington.


Tom Hanks and Morgan Freeman co-starred in 1990 for The Bonfire of the Vanities, also starring Bruce Willis and Melanie Griffith, and which was directed by Brian De Palma.

In 2002, Tom Hanks became the youngest actor ever to be honored by the American Film Institute with a Lifetime Achievement Award. He was only 45 years old. You can watch and download the ceremony in our archives.
