Producers Guild Awards 2011 : photos

January 23, 2011

Tom Hanks attended the 22nd Annual Producers Guild Awards last night. We've added some photos of the event in our gallery.

The Pacific received the David L. Wolper Award for Outstanding Producer of Long-Form Television. Therefore the award was accepted by Gary Goetzman, Tom Hanks, Eugene Kelly, Todd London, Cherylanne Martin, Bruce C. McKenna, Steven Shareshian, Steven Spielberg, Tony To, Tim Van Patten and Graham Yost.
Darla K. Anderson won the Award for Outstanding Producer of Animated Theatrical Motion Pictures for Toy Story 3.

The Guild paid tribute to several special individual honorees during the ceremony, including Tom Hanks and Gary Goetzman who were awarded with the Norman Lear Achievement Award in Television for producing a long list of award-winning projects since they formed Playtone Productions together in 1998.

An anecdote could be read in an article of HollywoodReporter.com about Judd Apatow hosting the ceremony and a comment he made about Tom Hanks.

Producers Guild Awards host Judd Apatow built his opening monologue around a profanity-laced attack on the way Ricky Gervais handled his Golden Globe Awards hosting chores a week earlier in the same room at the Beverly Hilton Hotel. [...]

"(Gervais) made a joke about Tim Allen who was standing next to Tom Hanks," said Apatow. "Who looks good standing next to Tom Hanks? We all look like a piece of shit standing next to Tom Hanks. Warren Buffet would look like a piece of shit next to Tom Hanks."
