April 19, 2013

Lucky Guy is a success! The play was supposed to run until June 16 at the Broadhurst Theater. Given the financial success of the play and the glowing reviews it has been getting, the producers announced that Lucky Guy has extended its Broadway run through July 3, playing an additional 16 performances at the Broadhurst Theatre.
Tom Hanks has also extended his contract and will continue to star as real-life newsman Mike McAlary until July 3, 2013.

Week and after week, the play remains the fourth top-grossing show behind the top three blockbusters Wicked, The Book of Mormon and a story about The Lion King.

Roger Friedman from Showbiz411 is even expecting Tony nominations for Tom Hanks, director George C. Wolfe, Ephron and a couple of the supporting actors, such as Peter Gerety and Courtney B. Vance.
