Ken Burns' latest documentary The National Parks: America’s Best Idea debuts on PBS this Sunday. It is a 12-hour, six-part series which took almost 10 years to make. Tom Hanks reads the voices of several characters in the film, including Congressman John F. Lacey. You can visit the official website to learn more about this documentary.

On October 12, Tom Hanks will be back at the Great Lakes Theater Festival (by the way, the event is already sold out) but that's not all.
A special videoconference for five schools in Ohio, including Fairland High, will also be organised by the Great Lakes Theater Festival in Cleveland. The distance-learning event will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Monday, October 12. Tom Hanks, who will be interviewed by Scott Simon, weekend edition anchor for National Public Radio, will talk about his career and acting techniques. Then students will get to ask him anythig they want.

We've added two videos in the archives. The first one is from October 2007, when Tom Hanks attended the Glamour Reel Moments Short Film Series. As he's interviewed by EyeBiteTV, Tom Hanks jokes about his family and his marriage with wife Rita Wilson.
The second one is a 7-minute behind-the-scenes video of the movie Cast Away, including interviews with Tom Hanks, Helen Hunt and Robert Zemeckis. You can find it in the Documentaries.

Jeanne Lorraine Joiner, October 19, 2009

This is Jeanne, my friends know me as
Lorraine. Lots of personal memories from
Forrest Gump, but that Jennie was not close to my life except the childhood things. I was working when my generation was doing drugs and protesting. I was a
widow at 22. I, by choice and determination was not a human broodmare.
I was born and destined to be a worker not a mother.
The manuscripts are good ones and you were chosen for the rights should some of us not survive. I have the original paperwork with your rights to publishing of my work along with Oprah.
Clint, Redford and I were not supposed to survive and whoever did, inherited the world.

Lorraine Joiner, July 26, 2010

I do take care of the details and put things in writing for litigation purposes and that I will win in court due to my very good training in documenting, keeping evidence, and contacting enough people that it is not
cost effective to kill all of us.
