Tom is a descendant of Abraham Lincoln (by Abraham Lincoln's mother : Nancy Hanks). Lincoln was the 16th President of the United States. Tom is a fourth cousin, four generations removed. Common ancestors were William and Sarah Hanks, who were great-great-great grandparents of Abraham Lincoln.
