Every year brings new things, new excitement and new problems of course. We are pretty sure that year 2020 will stay etched in our memory for a long time, but as always it’s good to focus on the positive rather than the negatives. We can’t list all of the Lord of the Rings movies, but Return of the King did win an Oscar, although it wouldn’t make much sense just to see this one if you haven’t seen the first two. If you love epic fantasy Lord of the Rings trilogy is really one of the best if not the best movies out there. Return of the king is an amazing ending to this epic journey or endings as it surely looks like there were multiple final scenes here.   

One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest

If you want to see one of the best Jack Nicholson’s performance and a really amazing movie, you cannot go wrong with this one. It’s a story of a convict who tries to avoid punishment by playing the insanity card and ends up in a psychiatric facility instead. It’s a gripping story, so if you have not seen it already you definitely should.  

The Godfather

This is a truly timeless movie that has fans all over the world, across all generations. It is a real surprise if you don’t know at least a few references even without seeing the movie once. If by any chance you still did not get around to see The Godfather, then do it as soon as possible, it’s really as good as everyone says it is. 

Forrest Gump

Much like The Godfather, Forrest Gump is very popular across generations. It is a truly touching story, and one of the best Tom Hanks performances ever. This is also one of those movies you can watch multiple times and it will never be boring, and it is so good and popular in fact that some of the most famous US restaurants were named after one character from the movie.   

Silence of the Lambs

The role that cemented Anthony Hopkins as Hannibal Lector, as this is the character we all think of whenever someone mentions an actor’s name. For those who enjoy thrillers and psychological drama, this movie is a must-see masterpiece.   

Rocky

If you watched some of the recent blockbusters with Silvester Stalone, you might feel skeptical about Rocky, being a must-see movie. First and foremost this is an amazing drama and a truly inspiring story. It’s not about flashy boxing moves and the main protagonist overcoming all the obstacles. It’s a legendary movie for a reason and you should definitely see it.    

All About Eve

Even if you don’t feel like watching old black-and-white movies, make sure you at least see this one. The movie has incredible dialogues, tells a story of how your idols can become your rivals, and vanity leads to downfall.
