Tom Hanks narrated a 30-second public service announcement about Colonial Williamsburg.
Established in 1926, the Colonial Williamsburg Foundation is a not-for-profit educational institution that preserves and operates the restored 18th-century Revolutionary capital of Virginia as a town-sized living history museum, telling the inspirational stories of the nation’s founding men and women.

“We are very grateful to Tom Hanks for speaking so generously about the Colonial Williamsburg experience. His abiding interest in history is not only evident from this video, but also from his past leadership of an impressive range of high-quality historical productions, including the multiple award winning HBO miniseries, ‘John Adams’ a portion of which was filmed in Colonial Williamsburg’s Historic Area.” said Colin G. Campbell, president and CEO of The Colonial Williamsburg Foundation.

Also in the news, Tom Hanks will be attending, and more precisely presenting the Public Relations Award received by Leslee Dart at the 2009 Matrix Awards, honoring extraordinary achievements of Outstanding Women in the Communications Industry. The ceremony will take place on April 27, 2009 in the morning. The same day Tom Hanks will be honored by the Film Society of Lincoln Center for his career. (Source)
