March 21, 2011

Actress Chloë Sevigny is currently developing a four-hour miniseries based on the life of Lizzie Borden that Tom Hanks and Gary Goetzman's production company, Playtone, will executive produce. Chloë Sevigny (far right on the picture) has been a driving force behind the miniseries, in which she'll star in the title role and serve as co-executive producer. Bryce Kass is writing the screenplay of this miniseries which is set to air in 2012 on HBO.
The actress had previously worked on the HBO's TV show Big Love for five years, also produced by Tom Hanks and Gary Goetzman.

Lizzie Borden was a Massachusetts spinster put on trial for killing her father and step-mother with a hatchet in 1892. She was acquitted, but almost everyone back then (and now) was pretty sure she did it.

Another project added to Tom Hanks's filmography as a producer is Rise of the Guardians. Produced by Tom Hanks, Gary Goetzman, Christina Steinberg and Kathleen Kennedy, among others, Rise of the Guardians is a 2012 animation comedy film directed by William Joyce, and Peter Ramsey. It stars Hugh Jackman, Isla Fisher, and Jude Law and is written by William Joyce and David Lindsay-Abaire.
The movie will be released on November 21, 2012 in the United States and December 7, 2012 in the United Kingdom.
